Cheesewring
Farm is situated on the edge of Bodmin Moor with spectacular views to Dartmoor
and Plymouth. The Farm formally ownded by the Duchy of Cornwall is approached
by a long private drive and set in the middle of 26 acres on the uplands of Bodmin
moor. Cheesewring Farm was built in the mid 1800s as the former quarry managers
residence. We are away from the crowds and busy roads, this is an ideal place
for quiet relaxation and an excellent base for enjoyment of many delights in Cornwall.
The wildlife visitors to our estuaries at all times of year are a pleasant diversion
for those on holiday and for the 'Twitchers'. The mild climate of Cornwall is
another reason why so many visitors choose the autumn and early spring for a short
break, ideal for cosy break at any time of the year. There are all sorts of activities
available when you stay on our site. There are lots of walks across the moor,
with direct access from the site onto the moor, the area is packed with mining
heritage and mythical stone circles and standing stones. For the more active there
is golf, sailing, riding and much more all within easy reach and a short drive
from our site. The
campsite is situated in the middle of 26 acre's, with hard drive into the
site, we are not close to any roads, the only noise is from the birds, we have
electric hook ups and a Toilet on site. The village of Minions is a short stroll
away, where there is a post office and general store and Café open from
7am to 8pm 7 days a week, the Cheesewring Hotel (the local pub)
has an excellent
menu and range of beers,
which provides good food at reasonable prices, one of the most popular eating
places in Cornwall. Just
a pleasant stroll away is the moorland village of Minions where sheep and cattle
roam freely through the village. The three stone circles known as the hurlers are
just a few yards further overlooked by Caradon Hill and the reminders of Cornish
Mining now long since gone. We have direct access to the moor's, and as much
dog walk as you want. Our Location is ideal for both North and South coasts approximately
30 min away. Our site is away from the crowds and busy rods, this is an ideal
place for quiet relaxation and an excellent base for enjoyment of many delights
in Cornwall, and a great location for Exploring Cornwall and Devon.
The very popular fishing villages of Looe and Polperro are
a short drive away. Pets
are welcome but we require that dogs remain on a lead, and any accidents must
be cleaned up. For
security reasons please advise us if you expect visitors |
